Dear All,
You are cordially invited to audition to join the cast for Al Zaytouna’s latest production.
Al Zaytouna is currently working on a dance theatre adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry V set in modern-day Palestine. Entitled Unto the Breach, the production was inspired by the Arab Spring and the aspirations of people across the Arab world to change their circumstances and shape their future. The show celebrates the efforts of the Palestinians to do the same through their own revolution, whilst also exploring universal themes of hope, courage, loyalty and determination against the odds.
A preview of the first draft of the show was shared with a select audience in June at Laban and received very positive feedback. The full production will debut in London in November of this year, and is supported by a BBC Performing Arts Fund grant.
We are currently looking for committed dancers to join the cast for the show. Stage and dance experience is required and an understanding of Palestinian culture is desirable. Please note that this is a voluntary role that will suit dancers wishing to develop their performance skills. More details will be discussed during the auditions.
Auditions will take place on Sunday 12th August at 1:30pm at Pirate Castle, Oval Road, London NW1 7EA. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can dance in.
Please register your availability for the audition and address any queries you may have to Hadjer Nacer at hadjern@hotmail.com. We have very limited audition slots, so please do RSVP.
